Media studies is an education that deal with different types of media, and the different forms of media, which are used for marketing purposes. It was originally conceived as a division in a sociology department in early nineteen sixties and it was deemed to be a good substitute for sociology. Later, it was absorbed into other educational fields including media and communication sciences. This is a branch of education where the students are focused on how the media can affect the public.
